Understanding Online PF Balance Check Issues and Resolutions

EPF Organization, India has started a new service from 1st July 2011. Now any employee can check his/her PF balance online here: [EPFO](http://epfindia.com) *[link updated to site home]*.

However, I joined a private company on 1st May 2011. We are a Delhi registered company. I received my PF number from the employer in July. PF deductions started from my May salary. When I checked my PF online, the message displayed on the PF site was: "Invalid Member_id / Data not updated against this PF Number. Data updated till 30-06-2011 12:28:02".

Given that I joined in May, my data should have been updated before 30th June. Why did this error occur? Additionally, other employees who checked their PF balance online received messages showing a significantly lower amount in their PF accounts, with the message stating that the balance is updated only till 2009. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Please share your experiences with this online PF checking system.

I have checked my PF status online and found that the updated status is okay. If any errors or faults appear with your account, you may directly get in touch with the local PF office by showing them your salary slip and PF account number. A friend of mine who works in Bangalore experienced the same incident, but the problem was resolved when he visited the local PF office and contacted the concerned authority.

If any mistakes appear therein, you may also report them to your employer and the local PF in-charge. I believe that whatever problems you are facing will be resolved.

Thank you so much for your reply. You are right, I must resolve the issue with getting in touch with my employer. As my PF number is registered in Delhi and I am working in Pune branch, I can't visit the PF office in Delhi. Can I visit the Pune PF office to resolve my issue, or only the Delhi office may be having my records? Please guide me through this query.

Hi, I am not able to check the status of my PF account "PU/PNA/0306085/XXXX". The website EPFO has the format of "PU/PNA" and my passbook number is not available. I don't understand the format. Could anyone help me on how to check the status of my account?
