Struggling with the New SAHAJ Tax Form? Here's an Easier Excel Version for You

pranab.banerjee
Hi, I hope all taxpayers with taxable income above ₹5,00,000 are searching for the new return named SAHAJ, recently introduced by the Tax Department in PDF format. The tax department refers to this form as SAHAJ, but I find this PDF file to be quite complex. Nowadays, most organizations prepare all their forms in a computerized manner, meaning they try to fill them out in a database, which is much easier. However, this PDF file cannot be filled out using computer management; it must be filled in manually. In this regard, I have already converted the PDF file to an Excel utility. The Excel format of SAHAJ also provides more convenience, as it can automatically calculate the tax. It is also beneficial for those who have made advance tax deposits through the bank. I hope this is useful for all taxpayers.

Here is the new Sahaj (ITR-I) in Excel format attached herewith.

Also, do you have a form for salaried income, fixed deposit interest, shares sold, or dividends received?

Dear Mr. Pranab, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you for taking the initiative to upload the ITR-1 (SAHAJ FORM) in Excel format. However, I believe that some corrections are required in the macro that you have enabled in Excel. Please review your form as many people rely on you. Once incorrect data is submitted to the Income Tax Department, it can create issues for the assessee.

I urge you to take this matter seriously. In today's competitive age, quality is paramount. While Chinese items may have initially captured the market, they can also lose appeal. My intention is not to offend anyone but to prevent any damage to our image.

Thank you and regards.

Dear Lakshay,

Mr. Pranab has created an Automated IT Form and is generously sharing it with everyone, which is commendable. However, responding harshly may not be the best approach. Do you think your reply was a bit severe? Such reactions might make one hesitate before offering help selflessly.

Although I am not a Taxation student, I can recognize good work, and it appears that the form is well done. There might be some areas for improvement, but using Chinese analogies does not effectively convey the message. It would have been more appropriate to mention specific areas that require refinement.

Kind regards
