Transitioning from Teaching to HR: What Experience Do I Need for Bigger Roles?

neeru135
Hi, I have pursued an MBA in HRM and recently joined a consultancy as an HR executive. Before that, I was in a teaching job for 6 years. My current role primarily focuses on recruitment. With this experience, I am wondering if I can secure a position in larger companies. What type of experience and expertise would be necessary for further career advancement? I am eagerly awaiting your valuable suggestions.

Regards,
Neerja

Do some HR-related courses (MBA, PG Dip. in HRM/IR & LL, etc.) and learn all HR activities as much as possible. 

Since you are working in a job consultancy now, you can get a job as an HR recruiter in any of the companies where they have requirements. For better job opportunities, you will have to sharpen your recruitment skills, which you can very well do in a consultancy.
