Feeling Stuck? Discover How a Simple Story About Elephants Can Inspire Your Freedom

M.Peer Mohamed Sardhar
Greetings!!!

A small story to help you break bondages... freedom being tied down, unable to reach the goal, feels like something is holding you back. Let the elephants speak to you...

"An animal trainer with the circus is able to dominate elephants by using a very simple trick: when the animal is still a child, he lashes one of his legs to the trunk of a tree. No matter how hard he struggles, the young elephant is unable to free himself. Little by little, he becomes used to the idea that the trunk of the tree is more powerful than he is. When he becomes an adult possessing tremendous strength, one has only to tie a string about the elephant's leg and tie him to a sapling. He will not attempt to free himself.

As with elephants, our feet are often bound by fragile ties. But since, as children, we became accustomed to the strength of the tree trunk, we do not dare to struggle. Without realizing that a simple courageous act is all that is needed to find our freedom."

May you have the courage to break free and reach for your dreams. Fly High...

Excellent is the only word I can use for these thoughts. When you look at the institution of marriage, people, mostly women, but men too, are tied to the marital knot even when they want to free themselves because of incompatibility. All marriages, though they say are made in heaven, are not or rather cannot be successful. Many people feel tied to these knots and do not have the courage to break free even when they wish to. Of late, the trend is changing, which, to my mind, is good in many ways. People may not agree with my contention, but I feel, why should one become a slave to the knot even when you are not happy in your marriage. Think about it. Regards.......Loveindra

Mr. Loveindra,

Sorry for putting down your comments on marriage. The story by Md. Sardar was very specific to material happiness. For example, it is very normal in Indians that if they start any new business and they are not successful in it, then they get discouraged from trying a new business. For such people, the story written by Md. Sardar would be useful. However, marriage is a totally different issue and is very important for Indian culture. It cannot be dealt with as easily as Americans do (try a girl, if she is not suitable, change her).

Please do not post these sorts of materials on CITEHR because it may influence some future husbands.

With Warm Regards,

Dear Mr. Chhokalingam,

I specifically mentioned in my posting that it is not true for most of us, but trends are changing. I am sorry if I hurt your sentiments; these were my views, and I feel we should respect each other's views. The views of one person can be commented upon and countered; that is perfectly justified. I respect your views. By the way, some 10 days back, it was in the news that the incidence of separation, which was an average of 2000 in Delhi alone, has gone up to 9000. What does it show? I am not trying to justify anything; it is just my thought process. Think.

Thanking you for your valuable views...

Loveindra
