Withdrawal of PF Contributions

If you resign before completing 6 months, only your contribution can be withdrawn, but not the employer's contribution.

Irrespective of the contributory period, withdrawal of both employee and employer contributions is possible.

As far as EPS is concerned, you have to complete 180 days for withdrawal. Nevertheless, you can transfer this amount to your new account or opt for a Scheme Certificate at any point in time. However, for EPF, you can withdraw your amount irrespective of your length of service.

I left my company on 25th January 2011. I filled in the PF form two months after leaving the company as instructed by the HR Department. However, I have still not received my PF amount. The HR Department has not provided any details or responded to my inquiries.

Can you kindly advise me on whom I should contact to address this issue?

Thank you.

You can withdraw only your contribution (12%) and the employer's share (3.67%), which totals 15.67%.

The minimum service period for eligibility to withdraw PF is 180 days. After this period, the employee's contribution to PF can be withdrawn. The best option to avoid this loss is:

1. To transfer the PF accumulation from the present employer to the new employer by submitting Form 14, or
2. To obtain the scheme certificate from the authority, subject to the eligibility for the scheme certificate by the resigned employee who applied for the withdrawal of EPF.

I would like to inquire about the procedure if an employee leaves the company before completing 180 days of service. How does the person go about claiming their PF benefits?

For the withdrawal of an amount from the EPF account, the member must have a minimum of 5 years of service as an account holder for certain purposes and 7 years for some other purposes.

You can withdraw EPF after a gap of 2 months following your resignation, including both your and your employer's contributions.

Employer's Contribution and FPF Lock-in Period

In the case of the employer's contribution, the FPF amount will be locked after 9.4 years. This means you cannot withdraw this amount upon completing 9.4 years of service.
