Need For Appreciation

b2wforum
The deepest need of mankind is the need to be appreciated. I think we can safely include the managerial species as part of mankind. Every manager craves to be appreciated, valued for his experience, insight and knowledge. He looks for appreciation from his superiors and respect from subordinates…

hi ,
what u said is correct. everybdy needs to b appreciated. Bt its also d truth that in corporates along wid ur experiences, qualifications, achievements etc. u need to show your performance in terms of high productivity for appreciation and moreover it may also not work sometime b'coz to get an appreciation from higher management one needs to prove him/herself in every aspect and den u MAY get acknowledgement and appreciation from d top management bt den if u get u r on ur way to successs.

Namaskar.
Appreciation is a judgment of others on self. So also adverse remarks on self by others too are judgments. Every day we get several such judgments from others. Others are not so serious in making judgments. They do not go meticulously to the merits and demerits of the point on which they make judgment. It is just as we appear prima facie to them.
Attitude plays a vital role in such judgments and in even serious judgments. Attitude towards us greately depends upon how we conduct ourselves in relation to others. So the key to appreciation or depreciation depends upon ourselves.
Appreciation can not be availed on demand. It is spontaneous. So we must be careful about our being and becoming to get appreciation. If we are vigilant on our being and becoming then certainly we can improve our appreciation/depreciation ratio.
This is my feeling.

Dr,
Yes, the deepest need is to be appreciated. I agree with your point that it depends to a large extent on how we conduct ourselves when we interact with others.
