EPF Deduction Clarification

EPF is deducted only from the basic pay, not from the DA. DA stands for Driving Allowance, which is given for work that requires travel, as well as for conveyance.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

If your salary element contains DA (Dearness Allowance), then that also needs to be taken into account along with Basic for EPF calculations.

EPF Calculation Details

PF Employer = 12% of Basic + DA
PF Employee = 12% of Basic + DA

Understanding Salary Breakup: Basic and HRA

I have just finished my MBA in HR, and I have a doubt regarding the salary breakup, especially the basic and HRA components. I've come across information suggesting that these components can be 40 to 50% of the gross salary, while other sources indicate it could be 30 to 35%.

I want to know if there is any fixed percentage for the salary breakup. I am keen to be in the recruitment field.

Waiting for a reply.
