Sharing My HR Presentation on Industrial Relations: Feedback and Suggestions Welcome

Dear All,

One of my HR friends in Mysore asked me to share the presentation I made a few months back at a UGC refresher course for teaching staff of universities on the Concept of IR and HR Approach to IR, jointly organized by NIPM-Mysore Chapter and Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajan Post Graduate Center. I had shared the presentation with the participants, and someone had the chance to see it and asked me to share. I thought I could share the same with all our group members as well, and I am attaching the presentation.

My presentation was of a three-hour duration, including a discussion followed by a film clipping. Since it was intended for teaching staff of postgraduate centers, the presentation contains an academic orientation, while my delivery focused on practical inputs. Because of this, I had to add more content of an academic nature since I intended to share it with them instead of providing separate reading material.

I hope you would like it, and I welcome suggestions so that I can improve upon my presentations in the future.

Respected seniors, I am Ramesh E, working as a Personnel Officer in a manufacturing company in Chittoor. I would like to learn about Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations (ER). How can I learn and approach this? Kindly, can anyone suggest to me?

Dear Mr. Surendranath A.,

It was really an informative presentation, but I feel that the presentation should be limited to 5 to 10 slides only. It should allow for explanation. If we provide everything in the presentation, then there is no need for an explanation. In short, there is no requirement for a presenter. Opinions may differ from person to person.

Dear Mr. Yogesh Kulkarni, Thanks for your feedback. You are absolutely right that complete information need not be given. I had mentioned in my cover note that this was meant to be distributed without separate reading material being given. Based on this theoretical presentation, the delivery was on practical aspects with a number of examples, which I had also mentioned.
