Confused About Career Path: Should I Pursue Research or Soft Skill Training? Need Guidance!

shikhaarorasareen
Hi, I'm a MPM student who completed my first year and is currently doing my training in a BPO. I already have 2.5 years of experience in calling in a BPO. I want to transition into research. They asked me to research the efficiency of different sources in recruitment (print media, consultancy, etc.) for a report. Currently, I am working on different types of soft skill training offered by training consultancies.

I had aspirations of becoming a soft skill trainer before, but a friend mentioned concerns about the working environment for women in that field. However, I believe I have the necessary skills to be a trainer. Now, I am a bit confused.

Do companies or consultancies really conduct research work? Is there a scope in this area? Will it help me secure a job after completing my studies, or would becoming a trainer be a better option? I feel confident in my abilities, and I am willing to develop further skills.

I understand this is a lengthy story, but I sincerely need guidance. It's a critical time for me to make decisions.

Thank you,
Shikha

Hi,

I'm a MPM student who completed my first year and I am currently doing my training in a BPO. As I already have 2.5 years of experience in calling in a BPO, I wanted to delve into some kind of research. They asked me to research the efficiency of different sources in recruitment (print media, consultancy, etc.). Since it's just a report, I decided to focus on something in T&D. So, now I'm working on different types of soft skill training offered by training consultancies.

I initially wanted to become a soft skill trainer, but one of my friends mentioned that girls do not have a healthy environment there. Moreover, I believe I have enough skills to be a trainer. Now, I am a bit confused.

Do companies or consultancies really perform research work? Is there a scope in it? Will I easily find a job after completing my studies? Or would becoming a trainer be a better option? I feel I have the necessary skills, and the rest I will develop.

I know it's a long story, but I seriously need guidance. It's high time for me to make decisions.

Thanks,
Shikha
