Nowadays PF office seems to be insisting Basic to be mandatory 50% of CTC if the basic amount is 15000 or less than 15000. My questions :
1. Is this a general rule and implemented consistently?
2. This seems to happen only when there is a scrutiny.
Last but not the least, are there formal notifications from the Labor ministry.To me,this pressure from PF office looked like a local and personal push from the local PF commissioner and over enthusiastic officers.
Can someone give some opinion which is backed by documents from labor ministry.

My question is that if it is mandatory to maintain basic wages equal to minimum wages. Suppose an employee is getting 9000 p.m in u.p then what should be the basic wages for him.???
