Stuck After Resignation: Can I Complain About Delayed Visa Cancellation in UAE?

coolblaze
Dear All, I gave one month's notice to the company for my resignation, and I served it. Now, after the one-month period, they still keep me in the company for the handover and similar tasks. The company only asked me for these things at the end of my one-month notice, so now I am suffering. I cannot get my cancellation because the handover is still not finished. What should I do? Do I have the right to complain to the UAE Labor Office?

Regards,
John

I suggest waiting for some time and not making any complaints. If you do complain, the case will be opened, and it will take more than three months to resolve. You will be unable to travel or leave the country until it's solved. In my view, your employer is looking for a new employee who can handle your job.

According to Gulf rules, once the visa is canceled, they need to pay the employee all their settlements and benefits. It seems they are just waiting for HR to clear your indemnity. You can also contact your HR department and request the reason for the delay.

Thanks,
