Is It True You Can Only Withdraw PF If You're Not Working? Seeking Clarification

When I recently approached my previous employer for PF withdrawal, besides the PF withdrawal form, they also asked for an undertaking on a judicial stamp paper stating that I am not working anywhere. According to them, one can withdraw PF only if they are not working or for other reasons such as marriage, loan, home construction, etc. Please confirm ASAP.

Conditions for PF Withdrawal from RPFC

An employee can withdraw their PF deposits from the RPFC only under the following conditions:

1. They have retired from service.
2. They are going abroad.
3. They are joining an organization that is exempted.
4. They are not joining any organization, in which case this activity should only be done after the completion of 2 months from the "Last Working Date."

You can withdraw the PF if it is really necessary for you. Your previous employer cannot ask for an undertaking on a stamp paper. You only have to mention in your PF withdrawal form that you are an unemployed individual.

Do this only if you are really in need of money because if you maintain a PF account for more than 10 years, then you are eligible for a pension.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks,
