Starting an HR Department from Scratch: How Do I Begin and Set Leave Policies?

prashan123thakur
Dear Seniors, I am Prashant Thakur, working as an HR Executive in a production unit. My company did not have any HR department earlier, but now they want to start one. They have appointed me for this role, despite my limited experience. Now, I want to know:

1. Where should I start?
2. In my company, permanent, contract, and temporary employees are working. What will be the leave policy for them?

Please guide me.

You have to create policies first, such as a leave policy, maintaining all legal compliances like PF, ESIC, all forms regarding contract labor, factory license, etc. Please review and let me know if you need further assistance.

Training and Development Initiative
After a discussion, we have decided to start with training and development. I have to identify the needs of the people as well as the trainers, meaning I have to fully coordinate the training. Please guide me. I want to do my best efforts.
