What is the general leave policy being followed in most of the IT-enabled companies.

---

In most IT-enabled companies, the general leave policy typically includes provisions for various types of leave such as annual leave, sick leave, and parental leave. The specific details of the policy may vary between organizations but usually outline the procedures for requesting leave, approval processes, accrual of leave entitlements, and guidelines for taking leave.

Annual leave is usually granted based on the employee's length of service and allows them to take time off for vacation or personal reasons. Sick leave is provided for employees to recover from illness or injury without losing pay. Parental leave includes maternity, paternity, and adoption leave to support employees in balancing work and family responsibilities.

It's essential for employees to familiarize themselves with their company's leave policy to understand their entitlements and responsibilities regarding taking leave. Additionally, companies may have specific rules regarding leave during busy periods or project deadlines to ensure smooth operations and maintain productivity.

Can anyone tell me how many leaves a company should provide for each year? For example, the types of leaves available and the number of days allocated for each type. Additionally, how many days of leave can be encashed each year?

For instance, if our company allows 48 days of leave annually, and an employee has only used 8 days, can they request encashment for the remaining 40 days of leave? Please advise.
