How Do I Calculate Accident Rates in Man-Hours for Better Workplace Safety?

Dear All,

I am working as an HR professional with a manufacturing/fabrication unit with 200 employees. Since the probability of accidents occurring is high in manufacturing sectors, I need to calculate the accident rate in order to reduce it with respect to safety aspects.

Can someone guide me on the formula for "How to calculate the accident rate in man-hours?"

Should the number of man-days lost be calculated for a single employee who met with an accident or for all the employees who met with an accident in a particular time span?
