TimesJobs Changed Bulk Emailing – Is This Fair to Recruitment Professionals? How Do You Feel?

Dear Friends, TimesJobs has removed their "select all candidate" option for bulk emailing. Now, we have to select each candidate profile individually before forwarding emails to them through TimesJobs. Previously, we were able to select 100 candidates at once with a single mouse click. However, now we have to click our mouse 100 times for that task.

It will be time-consuming to contact 1000 candidates via email through TimesJobs. Moreover, they have removed this option from their current customers' accounts, those who are utilizing their services. Do you think it is right that they are no longer honoring the offer they sold and committed to their customers?

They have treated recruitment professionals unfairly. Please share your opinion on this matter.

If it is a written contract with laid-down terms and conditions and a payable service, then yes, their act is wrong. If not, they have their right on their pages...

As correctly mentioned by S. Bhaskar, they can make changes in the services without any prior notice; the clause mentioned says it all. However, what I would like to suggest is organizing a meeting with their senior managers and dealing with this issue with maturity. Inform them about the difficulties and problems such changes are causing. I'm sure they will work on it once the feedback is clearly given.

Since you are facing this problem, there might be other companies experiencing the same issue. Once the feedback reaches them through the right channel, they will be able to work it out.

Dear Archana and Bhaskar, you are both absolutely right, but can you tell me what happens if someone uses the services of bulk email and then stops using them? What is the use of those services for a recruitment company or any other company's HR that utilizes services from job portals for database access, bulk emails, and job postings to search for candidates and advertise job openings? If a job site discontinues any of these services, what is the purpose of these job portals? There are only three main uses of job sites, so how can they proceed? Yes, they can modify the limits on bulk email usage, database access, or job postings, which could be considered a change in services. However, if they completely halt bulk email, job postings, or database searches, that is not a change in services; it indicates that the company is not willing to provide their product to the client.

I can say Aman is right; there is a big difference between changing services and not providing services. Aman is correct in stating that stopping bulk email services is wrong. They can make some changes to that, but if they sold their product with a 12 lac bulk emails offer, then they shouldn't stop it. It is against business ethics.

When we sign up for services, we are promised certain facilities and features. However, gradually, these features are withdrawn, and the level of customer ease is reduced. Imposing the whims of certain individuals on customers, depriving them of promised features, constitutes a breach of agreement.

One example of such mistreatment is sending multiple emails to prospective resources, which has now been restricted to one email only. This diminishes the client's role to that of a mere clerk.

Another instance is when including the company's website address in an email results in the emails being flagged as spam and not processed. It seems contradictory for an online portal to hinder other companies (its customers) from informing prospective resources about itself. This behavior is absurd towards those who sustain the portal through their payments.

It appears that the TimesJobs management perceives the data as their property, viewing customers as subjects to whom they are bestowing favors. We anticipate the reinstatement of all promised services that were active at the time of agreement. Failure to do so will compel us to seek legal recourse.

It is essential to acknowledge that the data provided is not TimesJobs' proprietary material. As intermediaries facilitating interactions between employers and resources, you are compensated for your role as a middleman. Please refrain from assuming the role of moral or ethical police within society; there are others responsible for that task. Focus on understanding your responsibilities correctly and delivering the appropriate services to us, the customers.

Remember, proper services are our entitlement as paying customers.
