Tally ERP 9 for Payroll: An Evaluation
We have tried our payroll in Tally ERP 9 version under the guidance of Tally local technical experts. We came to know that it is not as effective as their financial module, and we have raised this query with the Tally head office. Eventually, we understand that they are still working to improve the output in the payroll version, which may take a longer time.
As we all know, Tally is basically financial software that is more useful for the accounts department to maintain books in a soft mode. We can check the financial position and generate reports with just one click. In my opinion, Tally is very useful and user-friendly for the finance/accounts department. However, when it comes to payroll, it is not as great.
I recommend Excel as a better option for payroll than the Tally payroll module. We have been using Excel for our payouts accurately for the last ten years. If your company can afford it, you may consider other payroll software options as there are many user-friendly payroll software solutions available in the market these days.
