Please let me know the procedure for PF transfer. Is it possible to transfer the PF amount to the present company without doing any formalities from the previous employer?

You filled Form No. 13 and got the signature of your previous employer, then submitted it to the EPF department. If your employer doesn't sign your form, write an application to the enforcement officer in the EPF department.

There is no place to get the signature of the previous employer while filling out Form 13. Have you seen this issue before? Please revert back if this is the case.

Mr. Shoaib Rahman is right – there is no need to get the signature of the previous employer. You can attest the form with your current employer, and then submit it to the PF office.

You have to fill out Form 13 in triplicate and submit it to the PF office. It may take 3 months for the fund transfer to be processed. You don't need to obtain the signature of your previous employer.

There is no need to get the signature of the previous employer. You just need to fill out form 13(R) and send it to PF authorities through the present employer. The EPF authorities will obtain the information regarding previous remittances in form 3A from the previous employer. Your accumulations in the previous account will be transferred to the present account.

You have mentioned that after submitting the filled and countersigned form 13R by the present employer, it should be submitted to the PF authorities, who will then send form 3A to the previous employer. Please clarify the following:
(i) Can the transfer be made to another state?
(ii) Will the PF authorities inform the previous employer about my current employment details?
(iii) What is the appropriate time frame to apply through form 13R? (e.g., after 45 days / 90 days of joining the new employer)
(iv) Is the maximum time for fund transfer not greater than 3 months?

Dear Prachi,

First of all, fill up Form 13 and after attesting by your present employer, send it to your present EPF office. The EPF office will then send the form to your previous EPF office.

I personally advise you that this process takes more time. Withdrawing PF is a better option with Form 19 and 10C.

You just need to fill out Form 13 Revised and get attestation from your present employer, then submit it to the PF Office.

Dear Sir, The previous employer has totally closed or wound up the shop, and there is no person who can provide information about previous remittances except the records available in the EPF office only. How will this matter be settled?

Dear Ms. Prachi,

Please submit the PF Form No. 13 (Transfer form) and take the signature of the present employer to submit to the PF office of the Present Employer. There is no requirement for the involvement of the previous employer. You only need to check if the previous employer has submitted the return of PF through Form 3A and 6A.
