Unique CEO Birthday Gift Ideas and Employee Celebration Suggestions

Dear Seniors,

In a few weeks' time, we are celebrating the CEO's birthday, and all of us are planning to give him a gift or gifts. He is a very jovial person, and we want to give him something that will be worth remembering. He already has trophies, cards, gold gifts, silver gifts, flower baskets, a flower vase, a desktop calendar, pen stands, and wall clocks in his cabin. Something other than these will be greatly appreciated.

Inputs, please!!!

Thanks! Swetha Shenoy

You guys can buy big-sized kraft papers or KG cardboard papers, wish him on his milestone, all of you autograph the greetings, and also assure him of your best cooperation and contribution in the years to come. Maybe you can try something like a mega greeting card signed by you all and try for the Limca Book of Records as well! This kind of gift will be cherished by him in the years to come. A boss always wants trouble-free, cooperative, performing employees!

Hi,

Work half to one hour extra than regular office timing on behalf of his birthday, or give more qualitative output. Do something that will be beneficial for the organization directly or indirectly. After all, what else does he want?

Dear Shwetha,

I would suggest a gift like a 'chocolate bouquet' for you. Actually, you won't find it outside, but there's an entrepreneur who supplies this to corporates on various occasions. This gift would be something different and pleasing.

Also, you could gift him a coffee mug/calendar with a photograph(s) of the entire staff. You can get this at a digital photoshop shop that provides this facility.

Shwetha,

Meet his wife and collect all his childhood and teenage photos (e.g., his school photos, college photos, photos with his friends, his wedding photos, office photos) and put those in a big chart or get them framed. Present it to him; he would be thrilled. Also, invite his wife to the office during the cake cutting ceremony and make it a surprise for your CEO. He will never forget this birthday!!

Hi,

You can gift him a greeting card with the signatures of all employees, a small desktop bamboo tree, and a wooden pen with his name on it.

Hi,

You can gift him a greeting card with the signatures of all employees and arrange a one-day picnic with his wife and/or children. He would be happy as these people may not find enough time for their families.

In case you have any good-quality group photo of the team with the CEO, enlarge it and get it framed nicely. Make sure that you have a really good quality photo to enlarge and frame. It should go well with your CEO's office decor and taste.

  • Give donations to social organizations, NGOs, orphanages, schools, etc.
  • Organize a blood donation camp.

I really like Babsi's idea. Great suggestion.

Besides, as soon as he entered the office, he should be showered with glitter. You can distribute multi-colored ribbons to write one good quality of him. The number of flowers and the number of ribbons should be the same according to his completed years. Tie a single ribbon on a single rose and represent each one from the management panel.

Recently, I too had such an occasion. What I did was enlarged his photo, got it framed, got cake, distributed one lunch pack to all staff. As usual, flowers by ladies and girls, and got one group photo. Distributed them free to all staff, and so it was a small-time but quality time. They shall see the frame at their house and remember it throughout the years, at least up to the next celebration.

Swetha,

You could collect his passport-sized picture and have his portrait done by an artist. You can then frame it and gift it if you are keen on a material gift. I would also suggest what Babsi has recommended. However, I feel that if you all together wish him cheerfully and invite his spouse for a cake-cutting ceremony, that would equally be a great gift.

Dear All,

Thank you so much for your suggestions; some of them were valuable and a few were hilarious. It turns out that our CEO will be out of town for 2 weeks, and it is really disappointing that we will miss him on his birthday :(

One of my gifts was for him as he is a nature lover, so I planned to gift him a table plant where he can grow the plant by watering it every day - a short and natural gift.

Well, otherwise, I really thank all of you for your suggestions!

Take care,

Dear Swetha,

You would have already had photographs of several occasions where your CEO interacted with you, your teammates, or your department associates, other department associates, management meetings, interactions with guests, and likewise many other events and occasions. Collect those photographs, choose the best ones, and make a collage in a large frame (all in one frame of A3 size) and present it with a bouquet and a small, tiny synthetic cake with the year of celebrations. These moments will be cherished whenever he sees it on his table in the office or at home.

Thanking you in advance...

Dear Sheetal,

There is no fixed policy for the celebration of birthdays of staff; it all depends on the organization's values and staff welfare policies, if any, that are framed. Some organizations would send birthday greetings (a must) and a dining coupon as a birthday gift (an option). You could call the department people and cut a cake if there are department-wise celebrations, along with some refreshments before breaking for the day, while gifting a birthday greeting card signed by all the department colleagues/associates. Another way is for the boss to take the birthday person to dinner, including both family members, either on the birthday itself or a day before or after if the birthday falls on a holiday. Alternatively, group birthdays can be celebrated, such as cutting one cake for all those born in the same month on the last working day of the month. If it is department-wise celebrations, once every three months for those whose birthdays fall in that quarter. Choose any weekend for the celebrations so that they can carry fresh feelings with them.

All these celebrations can happen with a budget allocation to each department, division, line function, group, team, etc., considering the number of associates, employees, or colleagues.

Special care needs to be taken not to differentiate any colleague or employee. Trust is built among every associate when no differences are shown in the celebrations without any barriers.

Even CEOs would appreciate materialistic things if they are really good. Show some creativity, guys. Shweta, gift him a wall painting or a sketch of his own drawn by a good artist. Cheers.
