Hi, myself and my wife were working in the same organization as Level II Technicians. We both were performing well in our process.
One day, our manager called us and told us that one of us should leave the company as per the company policy. So, I agreed to leave the job. While serving my notice period, I got an offer from a different company and received my full and final settlement along with a relieving letter.
After I left, they started creating problems for my wife, saying she was taking too many leaves, which was affecting the process. One day, her manager called her to resign from her duty immediately. When she asked for the reason, they said she was taking too many leaves, which was affecting the process.
They didn't want her to serve the notice period and forced her to resign from her duty. My wife told them she would serve the notice period in order to get all the incentives and bonuses from the company; however, they didn't want her to serve the notice. So, she gave the resignation letter and left the office.
Now, after five months, they sent her an email stating she has to pay some 21,000 to the company as she didn't serve the notice period.
We don't know why they sent her an email after five months. Is that a warning letter? Is there any way they can take legal action against her, or should we take any legal action against the company?
Please revert.

Mahesh Raman
