Need Suggestion:Where To Join Accenture Or Cognizant ,am Having 2.3 Year Old Kid

dhivyacc
Hi friends,
Am a young working mother, having kid of 2.3 years old,
Now am with my parents commuting to office daily 3+3 =6hrs, so tried and got offer in Accenture and Cognizant. both are in chennai, locations are not informed yet, they are about to send the offers.
Am 3.3years experienced in java. I want to keep my kid with me , without keeping with either my parents or inlaws, i thought of kepping him in a daycare.. so that atleast apart office hours we can spend some quality time with him, instead of weekly or monthly 2 days.. :(
So now questions is which company offer should i choose , so that i can do work and life balance..?
Your valuable suggestions will help in my path lot... :)
Regards

Which ever company you work , as per need you might need to work on weekends, late nights etc, so confirm this with the HR that whether they would allow you a fix time of 09 to 06 or not ..... ;)

Hello Dhivya,
I am not sure if any of the Companies you mentioned have Flexi-Timing for their employees.
But if any does, suggest go for that company--will give you a flexible option to be with your kid & also help you to handle any emergencies--which is common for kids that age.

Choose Cognizant, you will have more flexibility than Accenture.
You can take Working From Home option, if you want to work. So that you can work in home, do your task, take care of your child.
I am not sure about Accenture.

ya i agree all of you people points.
Since am a developer , i may be having more responsibilities.
And am not aware of, whether for 3.3 years of experience , they will give work from home options and all.?
third thing is am living near tambaram in chennai, since MEPZ is near, and having CTS branch too in that, me too expecting to accept cts offer.
I need to speak to them regarding location of office, daycare facility, work from home option and flexitime option availability.
Ya, how to tell them or discuss my requirements? will they consider personal reasons?

Hello Divya,
Of course they will consider personal reasons.
Thanks to the IT industry now, the general way of thinking of today's HR has changed to thinking that an employee will perform ONLY if his/her mental attitude is OK--which in turn depends on family circumstances.
The very fact that 'Flexi-Timings' are today existing is an indication of this.
So pl don't worry too much--just go ahead & express yourself.
Coming to the worst-case-scenario, the MAX they can say is--NO. isn't it? And then you can check your other options.
Rgds,
TS
