In normal course an employee is entitle for wages/salary if of contract / terms of employment are fulfilled. Similarly any monetory benefit/ facility in lieu of monetory benefit is extended provided terms of employment are fulfilled. As regards to National holidays/paid festival holidays there is an verbal/written understanding that these days will be paid days although there is no fulfilment of terms of employment. Hence, canteen subsidy ( which is a facility in lieu of monetory benefit) is not paid for weekly-off days.
