Calculation Of Basic From Gross Salary

Dear Seniors
I want to know that Can Employer reduce Basic Salary. in my company our employer has reduce the Basic . for an example
D.o.J : 22.10.2007
last months Basic : 10000/-PM P.F Not applicable
New Basic : 5880/- Pm
CTC :Same
Can employer do this ???

hi all i have a query recently i am verifying a payslip in that gross salary is 50000 but the amount they mentioned in Basic salary is 22250 what is the percentage they calculated as basic

Hi Sunkara,
It seems they have considered 45% of your Gross Earning as your Basic salary.
