Confused About Factory License Renewal Fees? Seeking Clarity for Biomass Power Plant

Hi,

I am working in a biomass-based power plant situated at Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). We have paid the fee for the renewal of our factory license as per the Madhya Pradesh Factories Act, 1962, Rule -6 Anusuchi (c). My question is, should we have to pay the fee as per Rule -6 Anusuchi (a) as well?

Please clarify regarding the fee for the renewal of the factory license.

As per the Factories Act of 1948, the occupier must renew the factory license by the 31st of December every year. The state government is an administrative authority and has the power to make rules to regulate and control the Act in the state.

According to the state rules, the government may establish the license fee at different rates for various sectors based on the manpower engaged and electricity used in the respective unit. For details regarding the license fee for your unit, please contact the Inspector of Factories in your district at the Department of Factories Inspector.
