Planning a Team-Building Outdoor Event in Punjab: Any Tips or Company Recommendations?

Hi all, we are planning to have an outdoor activity on 13-15 August in or around Punjab, Haryana, Himachal. There will be 25 people attending. The main goal is for team building and creating stronger relationships among the participants.

Could anyone suggest a good professional company that can assist us in organizing such an event? This will be the first time our company will be doing this. Are there any dos and don'ts that we should be aware of?

My advice, since we have organized a couple in the various companies I have worked in:

- Make sure you take into account everyone's needs (so if you have people with disabilities, ensure the exercises are not too challenging and everyone can join).
- Make sure you explain what the AIM of each exercise is and DEBRIEF, DEBRIEF, DEBRIEF; otherwise, the exercises are disconnected.
- Try to create a low level of competition and emphasize working together.
- Give small prizes to those who participate and finish tasks well.
- Try to enjoy and not have too high a level of expectation—if the team is dysfunctional, chances are it will come out, and you will not be able to solve ALL problems!

Hi Mr. PG, as a first step, you have to work out the plan schedule, which means a day-wise schedule. For example, if it's a 3-day program:

1st day, first half - Activities
1st day, second half - Activities

Please prepare a complete plan with durations and break timings. Discuss this plan with your management for further suggestions. You can incorporate team-building games to enhance team relations and engagement. Consider activities like:
- Treasure Hunt
- Balloon Games
- Learning something new about everyone
- Cricket
- Team Quiz

If you are considering outsourcing, you can contact a resort where you plan to hold the event. The resort staff can assist in arranging everything, including a coordinator to conduct the activities.
