- Performance Management System (or specifically performance appraisal)
- Compensation

Besides these broad topics, you can choose parameters of these functions to conduct comparative studies, like:

- Training methods and their impact on the transfer of training
- Individual characteristics and transfer of training
- 360-degree performance appraisal of a particular company
- Succession planning and its impact on organizational effectiveness
- Methods of recruitment and their impact on recruitment effectiveness
