How Do I Convert My ICICI Account to a Salary Account Without Opening a New One?

Kindly let me know the requisition letter format for converting an existing account to a salary account. I already have an account with ICICI, and my company wants to open a salary account in the same bank. However, I do not want to open a new account. I have spoken to the bank representatives, but they require a letter from the company.

To the best of my knowledge, banks categorize accounts under headings like salary, high net worth, HUF, etc. Your account number would reveal this information. Therefore, changing the category would involve modifying the account number, which bank people are not comfortable with. A person would then have to open a new account, which comes with certain freebies like zero balance, OD, etc. Since you already have an account, why bother changing the categories? I myself have been using a tripartite joint account for salary purposes to date.

A 7-8 year bank account that grows along with good fundamentals will help you in securing a loan of up to 10-15 lakhs real fast.
