Can My Employer Fire Me for Uploading My Resume? Seeking Guidance on Office Politics and Job Security

Greetings for the day! First of all, I would like to thank my seniors for their suggestions for every problem posted on Citehr. Again, I am scared of a few things that have happened in my company. I would like to share with my seniors. Now, I have completed 1 year in my current company. I want to leave the company because of flattery and bias. Politics are at its peak, and I am experiencing a difficult situation in my office.

My Query

If I upload my resume, can my current employer fire me for this reason? I am scared because I have heard of an incident that has already happened in my current company. Could you please guide me on this matter?

As far as my knowledge is concerned, there is no such law where your employer can fire you for uploading your resume to a job portal. Just make sure to review the terms and conditions mentioned in your offer letter. Don't worry and consider switching your job if you are not happy.

Uploading CVs on Job Portals

The CVs uploaded on job portals all belong to working people. There is no issue with uploading your CV. There is no need to work in an organization that is infringing upon your rights; it is better to make a change from there.

You can upload your resume if you are not under any bond/agreement with your present company. Also, you can block your present company from seeing your resume on that portal. They won't be able to see your resume then.

Don't be afraid of getting fired because it is your right to find a better job. If you are scared, don't disclose your future plans within the staff.

Hi Mamata, you can block your present company on portals. There is an option on Naukri and Monster portals where you can enter your present company name and click to block. Your employer cannot view your resume, and don't disclose anything to your colleagues.
