Dear All, please tell me, is House Rent Allowance applicable in private sector companies other than Maharashtra? If yes, then by what percentage, especially in the state of Rajasthan?
HRA is governed by IT rules and is applicable to all states and all types of organizations. In Rajasthan, it is 40% of the basic salary as no city falls under metro status.
I have another related problem. One of our employees was not paid any salary for 5 months on account of sanctioned leave last year. For the remaining 7 months of the year, he wants to claim HRA benefit under Sec. 10(13A), but for the first 5 months when he got no salary, he wants to claim a benefit under Sec 80GG. Can that be allowed?
