Feeling Stuck After MBA in HR: How Can I Find a Job That Matches My Skills?

Musheer alam
Dear All, I am feeling very demotivated nowadays. I have completed my MBA in HR but am not getting a good job in the field. I have started working for a semi-government organization as a project assistant, but the role has nothing to do with HR.

Please advise me on what I should do next.

Thanks,
Musheer

Don't get disappointed at all. You will definitely get the break in HR. Upload your resume on various job portals and check the job classifieds in newspapers regularly. And yes, don't think that you will not gain anything from your present job. You will definitely acquire some knowledge from your current position, even if it's not related to the HR field. There are many people who don't initially get a job in their related field.

I also started my career as a Customer Service Representative. I did my MBA in HR. After a few months, I got the break in HR as a recruiter. After that, I worked in Payroll, and now I am handling a Generalist profile. So, don't worry, try your best. Best of luck!

Dear Masheer, I was in the same position a few months back and understand what must be going through your mind. Let me tell you, don't give up. Core HR jobs are scarce in the market, and attrition is very low in this department, but don't stop applying for jobs. The most important thing is to keep updating your knowledge and keep your basics clear. It's not the MBA that is going to give you the job; it's the knowledge you possess. An opportunity can arrive at any time at your doorstep.

All the best, and be hopeful.

Dear Musheer, I understand your present situation. Don't be disappointed; instead, try to update your knowledge base. I would like to suggest joining a small company or organization to gather experience. In the meantime, don't think of yourself solely as an MBA; learn from your practical experiences.

You mentioned that you're working in a concern. Observe how they handle all types of statutory and social compliances and solve employees' problems. This will help you in the future. During this period, keep updating your resume and post it on all job portals. Above all, analyze yourself impartially and try to identify your disadvantages to rectify them. You can seek help from your seniors.

I believe you will get a positive result. So, don't lose hope, fight the situation, and you will emerge as a winner. Best of luck to you.

I want to share one more thing with you guys...

I got a very good opportunity in the HR field, but the company was asking me to pay Rs. 15,000. I did not agree to anything and refused the offer. The company name was H B Entertainment Private Ltd.

Has anyone else come across the same situation?

Thanks

I am also going through the same condition as you. Thank you for all your words; they help me a lot. Musheer, don't go for the job that requires you to make a payment first.

Thanks.
