How Can I Make Monthly Corporate Themes Exciting and Engaging for My Team?

himani HR
Hi all, as an HR person, I have decided to have a corporate theme every month for my staff. In these monthly themes, I plan to include health checkups, healthy food, fun activities, and a party (one activity per month). To organize this in a professional manner, I would like your help.

Introducing Monthly Themes

1) Kindly assist me in introducing these themes to my staff. I am looking for suggestions on how to create excitement through punchlines, quotes, jargon, posters, messages, or anything special that will make them eager to know what is planned for the upcoming month.

Suggestions for Additional Themes

2) Please suggest additional themes so I can enhance the planning of these activities.

I request all of you to reply and provide your valuable suggestions.

Hi Himani, you can have some themes like Green Day, White Day, and Blue Day, where you can plant trees, make teams, and have activities like skits or anything on deforestation, global warming, and e-waste.

On White Day, organize a blood donation camp. Have a day full of events including games, fun, decorations, and more.

Feel free to contact me for any assistance.

I liked the concept and appreciate your initiative. You will get plenty of material over the internet to help you introduce your themes.

On a lighter side, you can also think of the following:

1. 'Greet Day': Everyone will greet each other with "Good morning"/"Good afternoon," etc., with a smile. As we observe, these practices are routinized nowadays and are done with a mechanical mind rather than wholeheartedly.

2. Decide on a particular day to celebrate 'Birthdays for the Month' of respective employees, say for May, then June, and further on with a cake cutting and take them out for lunch.

3. Play a Quiz: Related to your operational area, e.g., a Chemistry quiz if yours is a chemical company, or any other topic, at concluding hours on Friday/Saturday. This will help refresh/strengthen the knowledge and that too in a lighter mood. Complement the best performers with a small prize then.

4. In-house Lectures/Presentations: It will be a good idea to hold in-house lectures/presentations on any motivational or inspirational topics once a month. You can encourage your employees to lead and nominate themselves. This will give them a feeling of leadership, even facing the mob, stage daring, confidence, and whatnot...

Hope this will help you.

Thank you to all for your valuable suggestions. I will indeed implement some of the ideas.

Presently, I am planning to organize a health check-up for my staff where I am planning to include dental, BMI, eye check-up, and a physiotherapist lecture.

I request you all to kindly suggest some good slogans or punchlines to make it more attractive when announcing and placing posters for these activities.

Thank you for your support.

Himani
