Dear Usha,
Non contributory periods are those days on which the employee is on Leave without wages or LOP. You have to track the LOP days in the financial year and record it in Form 3A. This data is also required while you submit the claim for Pension.

If somebody`s wages are Rs. 7500.00, he opt for upper ceiling of Rs. 6500.00 for PF deduction, if in any month he is absent for 3 days and his basic wages stays Rs. 6800.00 for that respective month, do we have to deduct PF o@ rate of Rs. 6500.00 or we should take proporationate amount of Rs.6500.00 @ attendance days i.e. Rs. 6200.00 and same calculation in case of pension fund deposition.
