Hello shwetamht02,
Forget for a moment about the advice of ALL OF US here @ CiteHR. And also forget for a moment if your MBA-HR will be a hinderance or plus-point for the offer you have in hand.
First YOU make up your mind as to which direction you want to take your career path.
Also, recollect the exact reasons WHY you did MBA-HR. I am sure there must be very valid reasons for that step of yours.
Now check-out if this offer will help you achieve the goals you set for yourself--2/3/5/10 yrs from now.
The farther you can look into, the better planned your career 'can' be (mind you I mentioned 'can' be, since there will always be a chance of the slip between the cup & the lip--that's life I guess, but like the Quote says: it's better to have a sketchy plan than no plan at all)--but pl note that it's also OK if you just are able to plan only for the next 1-2 yrs, the idea being YOUR COMFORT LEVEL in this process of matching your career goals vis-a-vis the opportunities.
There's also another thing that, I think, needs highlighting/differentiating. MBA-HR doesn't ever mean you have to get stuck with the HR line of career. It's meant to give one the ability to deal effectively with 'human resources'. And dealing with human beings is by-and-large a part of any managerial role--the only difference being that in the HR role it becomes the primary focus while in other functions, it becomes the secondary focus aiding the primary function, whichever it may be. If you notice, quite a few of the top execs today in India have their footing in non-HR lines & yet they are MBA-HR qualified.
Coming to the present offer, like I mentioned above, if your career plans are being met with this step, just go ahead & join. If not, just ignore this offer. And next time, pl try to focus on only such openings that can aid you in achieving your larger goal. Everyone has his/her own way of looking @ situations. Take all the opinions offered to you as INPUTS--finally it's YOUR DECISION & it has to be your's alone, since IT'S YOUR CAREER.
Rgds,
TS
