Transitioning from Temp to Permanent: How Can I Claim My Deducted TDS?

gayatri050
I am currently working in a software company that I joined as a temporary employee. Therefore, 10% of my salary was being deducted as TDS/consultant charges. However, now I have been absorbed as a permanent employee of the same company. I am unaware of how I might claim the amount previously deducted. Is it possible for me to get the money deducted, or will I need to wait until I leave this company for the same? I would be thankful to learn about the procedure and forms required to make such a claim.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to claim TDS, you don't have to wait until you leave the company. Every financial year, the company provides a TDS certificate. With that certificate, you can directly claim at the TDS office. Just contact your HR team for the TDS claim, and you will get more information.

Thank you.

Hi all, I too have the same query. I have worked as a consultant for 3 months, and 10% TDS was deducted. I want to claim that. Please brief me on the process, as our account person is not coordinating properly to provide the needed information. Please revert.

Thanks,
Rajeshwari

You have to claim an excess tax refund while filing your income tax returns. The employer will provide you with the TDS certificate. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I have received the TDS certificate from the company, i.e., Form 16, but I don't know how to claim it. Please brief the process in detail.

ITR-V is used for filing income tax returns. It is very simple. Forms are available online. You can search on Google and download.
