Continuous Work Weeks: What's the Legal Limit on Employee Working Days?

bbncrdn
Can someone guide me on the maximum working days of an employee according to the law? For instance, an employee working in the company continuously for the last two weeks, even on Sundays. What is the rule for continuous working days?

Maximum working hours are 48 in a week, and after 48 hours, a person should get one day break.

As per the Factory Act and Payment of Wages Act, no person can work in any establishment for more than 48 hours in a week. Furthermore, it is provided that the maximum hours of work are 9 hours in a day. In special cases, an employee can work for a maximum of 10 days, but in such instances, prior approval must be obtained from the inspecting authority.

The above-mentioned laws are only applicable to workers. However, executives/managers do not fall under this category as they are part of the management and therefore can work even more than 48 hours in a week.
