Transactional Analysis one of the most important traditional tool for recruitment & selection:

1.As you have to analyse some one who is new to the organisation and you have

very limited resources to assess them as per the job descriptions & job

specifications.( In cases of employees you have time to assesss them you have

various information pertaining to them .You can use several HRD ineterventaions to

allign them as per you requirement but in case of new recruitment you can not opt

for experiments)

2.Understanding of the persons state as per the ZOHARI WINDOW will help the

organistaion in understanding the capabilty of the individual to understand self &

others in a give situations.

3.IF a candidate is going through interview then in that case with the help experienced psychologist/HR, one can able to find attitude of the candidate for excelling your job requirement.

4.There are several set of questionnaires which may be developed to hit the ego state of the individuals know his sutability to your job & organisations.

These are my personal views...

Thanks..

Hi Sandy,
TA – Transaction Analysis is primarily about the mental make up of the person as the concept developed by Eric Berne and this is more towards the self development or rather as a development tool it can be used on almost any interpersonal skills course and is invaluable in helping anyone (trainers and participants alike) to explore their behaviours and motives and more importantly increasing their self awareness.

TA also provides the analysis of the personality but as a recruitment tool – doubt its effectiveness even if the organizations are using this !. The major reason being if it is used as a recruitment tool through the structured questionnaire – then the candidates may not give the factual or correct answers as it has an impact on their job prospects !

Please let us know the names of the organizations who are using this TA method in their selection tools ? It is worth exploring to understand this tool as a recruitment model as many experts have tried to explore and refine its concepts over the period of time since the death of founder –Eric Berne in 1970. More specifically the original 3-state model "Parent-Adult-Child" has been subdivided in a new 9-elements model: the Parent state is divided in the Critical Parent and the Nurturing Parent, each with a positive and negative side.

Best Regards,
