Dear Seniors,
Can you share me the company relocation policy..(Charges to be paid for an employee who transfered from one location to another location.)
generally it vary from company to company. can you share me what are the things that comes under the relocation policy. am in preparation of designing relocation policy.

Hi,
The major points to consider are what are the travel allocations you want to put up. Briefly, whether the employee can have a pre transfer visit to the relocated area. How many family members would the company pay for travel expense on relocation. What is the maximum goods truckload allowed per employee grade. What are the conditions for transport of vehicles. What is the help offered to the employee on getting a new place of stay at the relocated area. And to what extent is the employee paid a relocation expense as per his grade. Also to consider is the minimum distance in which all these considerations are applicable.

In my opinion, Co. need to reimburse the travel tickets for an employee & it would vary grade to grade. If company have't disclosed the relocation point to an employee at the time of appointment, then a decent hike should be given on the present salary & all the benefits will remain same.

I am a new member and still hung up on the relocation policy.
We are into trading and services. We have technical staffs to work on machineries for industrial and manufacturing plants. Recently, one of our client reorganized and have adapted the contracting of outside technical resources.
We will be placing 2 service personnel in that town about 200 kms. away from our office. We have acquired a staff house there and furnished it. The staff house is about ten minutes to the facility. From time to time, we send augmentation team to assist in the workload.
Kindly help me for I need to develop a relocation policy for the 2 permanent personnel and for the augmentation team. How should I address the reimbursible expenses and meal allowances. Rent and utilities are paid by the company.
What rules and regulations should I impose to safeguard the rented property.
I feel that the augmentation team is half hearted if we send them out.
Please advice.

Surendra,
Some persons may not shift their families when relocated. For them, you have to consider dislocation allowance in addition to providing bachelor accommodation (if your company policy permits).
