PF Recovery for Single-Time Contractors

Whether we have to recover PF for a single-time contractor even if the contractor doesn't have PF registration. If so, how should we proceed? Currently, we handle ESI compliance for such contractors and remit the same in the Company Code.

You can use your company's PF code to remit the members' contributions of such contractors. This is the practice followed when a contractor engages fewer than the required number of workmen as per the PF Act or does not have their own PF code.

PF authorities are not allotting sub-codes now because of many defaults in sub-codes. Hence, using the main code is the only way.
