MBA - Net Set Or MBA B.Ed ?

Yaasmin
Dear Senior,
I am working professional of 8yrs with qualification as BA - English Literature and currently persuing MBA in operations.
In considering long term perspective for working flexible and some extent desire for teaching profession.
I am planning to give NET / SET exams after MBA (completing in Dec 2011).
Hence for teaching in colleges of undergraduates or MBA colleges as an lecturer (regular or part time ) does it require to do B.ED cumpolsary or the qualification as expressed above will do the needfull i.e. MBA + NET / SET.
Information regarding NET/SET is also welcome.

  • If you intend to teach English in colleges at UG level, NET / SET is compulsory and you may also have to complete MA.
  • If you intend to teach to MBA students then industry experience is more important and there is no compulsion to clear NET / SET.
  • If you intend to teach in school, you must have B Ed degree.

Hi,
1.For Prof. and Associate Prof., Ph.D is mandatory, whereas, Asst.Prof. requires MBA with 2 years experience-Education or Industry. B.Ed. is not required for Higher Education. No NET/SET is required as per AICTE Guidelines. Please refer AICTE Website.
2.UGC-NET exams are conducted in June and Dec. Please refer Employment News Paper and UGC Website in March and Sep.
