Please follow the advice given above, which I have copied here. For the help you are seeking, it's better to search the web, prepare a draft answer, and post it as an attachment. Then seek help to improve it. Students learn more from working by themselves rather than seeking solutions from others. Have a nice day.

Hello,

Very Interesting question...

There is a lots of difference between HR activities and Administrative activities, suppose if both are interrelated to each other then why should has every organization keep two separate department Admin and HR rather then one...

Due to insufficient time, I will give you quick Brief Info:

HR is a process of Planning, Organizing, Directing and Controlling the procurement Human resource of the organization and HR functions like:
  • Human resource planning which deals with Manpower to organization and other
  • Human resource development deals with Development to organization and employees in terms Training and development,
  • Compensation and benefits deals with Salary, bonus, wages, incentives etc
  • Labour law deals with Labour acts
and were as Administrative is a process of taking care the entire backend work of HR like place & system arrangement for the new employee, Issuing of ID card, Transportation, Food, attendance, events, etc...

Hope you came to know the difference in both works

Respect to your 2 question:

I would just give you a simple example:

In my family My Grand Father is a head of the family and next to him is my Father, Both Moto is to keep their family Good surrounding environments, Health, wealth & Growth of members…

My Grandfather is a person who know our family needs, Who listen us, who take appropriate decision but before taking any decision he use to speak / share his view to my Father to know the forecast of today's, tomorrows and future.
Based on both confirmation, Grand Father will take decision but for implementation he leaves up to my father because he knows how to things get done in this current scenario .

Now take this example into organization terms:

Grand Father as: Company Management
Father as: Company HR
Management and HR relation is same like a father and son/Daughter Both Moto is to keep their company with Good surrounding environments, Health, wealth & Growth of employees…

I believe what I says is not up to the mark but will give you bit picture and rest will see what others say's

Dear Sir/Madam:

My question is, for example, if I have already resigned and the company has given me a one-month notice to join or provide clarification for this company for formal resignation, and then later on, my company notices a small mistake... is my resignation legally valid or not? What should I do with my resignation?

Hi,

HR and Admin are different fields. The administration part includes the attendance of employees, leaves, salary, etc., but HR should always be in touch with administrative work. HR includes recruitment, selection, induction, training and development, performance appraisal, file management, conflict resolution, etc.

Thank you.

Hello,

The following, in brief, constitute HR/Admin functions:

HR - salary/wages administration, Time Office, Recruitment, Promotion, Training & Development, Appraisal, Disciplinary action & procedures, Transfer, and any other related subject.

Admin - Security, Canteen, Transport, Travel, and any other related functions.

The definitions of both are there in any textbooks. Since you are a student of MBA, it is better to read and understand the difference.

Dear Mr. Siraj,

I appreciate your transparency and views about your past. In fact, the same thing happened with me as well, as my parents are not graduates, but I still managed to travel my journey on my own, with the grace of the ALMIGHTY.

HR is like an OCEAN, and it is a DOMAIN. HR plays a vital role in shaping an individual's career. HR is a COST CENTER for any organization and even supports ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH as we are held responsible for RECRUITING THE RIGHT TALENT, NOURISHING/UNLEASHING HIDDEN TALENT, RETENTION, SUCCESSION PLANNING, and more.

HR needs TOP MANAGEMENT SUPPORT, and the relationship between HRM and TOP MANAGEMENT should be like "SOUL & HUMAN BODY," where SOUL is HR and HUMAN BODY is TOP MANAGEMENT.

I do understand STUDENTS' MENTALITY on the whole and want to do something on my own. However, it is the institution owners who never came forward to support STUDENTS' GROWTH, as they were COMMERCIAL-MINDED (entrepreneurs). Henceforth, there are LIMITATIONS everywhere.

Moreover, we need to change our mentality and extend our hand for helping students and employees by directing them towards the right path.

Today, I really got disappointed when the thread "JUDGE MY CEO" was deleted. With great difficulty, we accumulate views and post with an intention to help others and gain knowledge/information which is not available everywhere. I made up my mind not to post anything on this community. It is we who are not PROMOTING HONESTY/TRUTH. Why is one committing MISTAKES? What are the reasons associated with MISTAKES? It's just because TRUTH is buried deep. Everyone should know the FACT, even if it's NEGATIVE; else, how can one differentiate between POSITIVE & NEGATIVE?

Information related to ACADEMICS is available in abundance, but HONEST/SINCERE/TRUTHFUL SUGGESTIONS associated with KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE are difficult to locate.

Forgive me if I was wrong because I AM A VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD PERSON and support HONESTY, SINCERITY, LOYALTY, DEDICATION, and HARD WORK because very few love to speak the FACTS.

GOOD LUCK...

With profound regards.

Hello,

The first question is an easy one and can be found in any book or from a person with little experience. However, the second question is a little tricky and requires the application of the mind.

Q2. Provide an example to explain why an HR Manager must be consulted when making any important decision.

I agree that HR is an essential function. It is called Human Resources and not Man resources, acknowledging that we are dealing with humans who have emotions. Any decisions made will impact the individuals involved, much like how a decision in a family can make or break a home, which is also true in the context of a company.

Normally, important decisions are made by top management, while details and other decisions are handled by HR, making them responsible for implementation. Although everyone may wish to make decisions, it is advisable to involve all concerned parties. This is where HR plays a crucial role. They conduct groundwork and prepare the foundation for decision-making. Typically, HR possesses information about all employees and maintains constant communication with them, making it essential to consult HR.

Just as the Finance department manages money and maintains transaction records, all financial matters are directed to them. Similarly, all decisions affecting employees should be discussed with HR.

As HR plays a pivotal role in the organization, it is important not to be overwhelmed by this responsibility. Another crucial function of HR is to ensure teamwork rather than boasting about their department's importance.

All other functions are academic and should be familiar to everyone.

These are some of my views.

Now a day's technological factor of broad environment is changing very rapidly. You know that broad environment is uncontrollable. How technological environment can create opportunities for grocery store?
nashbramhall
Dear Siraj, Khadir, Nagaraj and others,
I also come from similar backgrounds. My father studied only up tp Intermediate and my mother did not study beyond primary school as they lived in very small villages. However, my father ensured that his children all were educated (not just qualified). Unlike nowadays, when the web facility is there, in our days even textbooks were difficult to get.
I have settled in Uk now and I conduct seminars and workshops to impart what little extra knowledge that I have gained by studying in Uk and also working here. However, I am only prepared to help those who help themselves rather than give answers on-a-plate to those that seek answers without trying. THE BEST WAY TO SEEK INFORMATION IS TO SEND AN ANSWER TO A QUESTION AND SEEK HELP TO IMPROVE THAT.
Have a nice day

Dear Mr. Simhan,

From the beginning, I have been appreciating your student motivation methodology, which is practical in nature. However, Indian students' mentality and our educational standards are quite different when compared with Westerners. We highly appreciate those who provide us ready-made solutions - a spoon-feeding methodology.

Yes, we Indians are educated but not qualified to a larger extent, mainly due to our Indian educational standards/system. Even those who graduate from IIM's are not able to compete with those who possess a couple of years of experience. Still, we find many B-schools promoting themselves in a unique way. The output is not aligned with creativity since the approach is not research-oriented.

The only reason why the Western education system has true value is because of its research-oriented approach, which has developed reading skills, listening skills, and creativity in students. The same approach can even be implemented in CITEHR. A systematic procedure - step-by-step process is mandatory for students posting their queries. Research based on keywords or index providing links to various topics of HRM. The process has to be simplified and a perfectly defined system. I believe that small modifications in CITEHR can help our students inculcate creativity. We need to educate our students.

I had mentioned earlier that I understood students' mentality (psychology) and one has to deal with them with utmost care. I have even come across adamant/arrogant students who told me that "if you had come up in your life by struggling hard, it doesn't mean that I have to follow your footsteps." There are instances in CITEHR where students wrote informally (impolite nature, no sign of discipline while addressing others, though it is their requirement) demanding information, as if we are hired to solve their queries. I sincerely felt pity for the students because they are not either trained properly or educated.

1) It's better we change our approach and request CITEMAN NETWORK to implement systematic procedures in CITEHR enabling students to acquire information based on a research-oriented methodology.
2) CITEHR should make them spend time gathering information rather than just allowing students to post their queries without evaluating CITEHR.
3) Time spent by students gathering information should be worth enough to be appreciated by them. Students should learn the value of time (experience).
4) Students should be compelled to make the best use of technology.

We all can succeed in helping students in inculcating good habits if the proprietor of CITEHR (CITEMAN NETWORK) can work on our request.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong.

With profound regards
nashbramhall
Dear Khadir,

I endorse your sentiments. I have requested the Administrator if all students' messages can be redirected to a separate stream, and students are requested to do research before raising queries. Even in the West, students look for the easy way out if spoon-fed. However, tutors normally do not do that; hence, students learn to find answers by searching the web, etc. The mere fact that there are people advertising the availability of writing assignments/projects for a fee shows that there are people making use of such services in the West, too. Some school pupils in America send their assignments to be done in India, I am told.

That's why, instead of giving answers, I raise questions first. Then, I direct them to sources where they can read material and form their own answers. For a recent example, please see https://www.citehr.com/332028-plz-co...r-10-mins.html.

Have a nice day.

Dear Mr. Simhan,

By requesting an administrator, nothing is going to happen. A systematic process needs to be implemented. An idea cannot change the world unless it is implemented perfectly, followed by necessary modifications through an effective feedback system.

I do agree with the fact that most things are "outsourced," everything is commercialized. Henceforth, the quality of education is degrading, and professionals like us are gaining knowledge by answering queries posted by students. By answering queries, I strongly felt that I had learned something by fine-tuning myself. Many even tried to correct my mistakes, for which I am sincerely grateful to them. Whatever I had gained through CITEHR, I can only feel it.

There is a way to train and educate students. It has been history; most of the members of this community have responded to individuals' queries without knowing much about the one who is seeking information. As you rightly said, most of them are accustomed to a spoon-fed methodology. But may I raise a query, "who promoted the spoon-fed system and supported students to get their queries solved?"

I am working on a module on how we can enhance "students' maturity levels" associated with creativity. I am sure none have worked on this topic so far.

Academics based on practical experience can solve most of the issues. Basics of education, fundamentals will remain the same forever.

My aim is to educate others to make the best use of CITEHR, as I did, and I do value this community. But I alone can't make it happen.
