Dear Nagarjuna,
First and foremost, I would like to appreciate your keen interest in joining the HR department and seeking a bright future in your career. I understand from your post that you don't have any practical job experience, yet you have knowledge in payroll processing and statutory compliances like P.F & ESI. This knowledge will indeed help you secure a good job. My suggestion is to pursue a higher degree in HR; don't end your studies with a B.Com. Go for an MBA in HR from any reputed university, which will give you more weightage in your field.
1. Apart from this, join any small or mid-size organization in the HR department, even if they offer a lower salary. This will help you gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience.
2. Read more articles about recruitment processes and employee compensation & benefits as per various labor acts.
3. You need to keep updating your skills according to the present trend in the HR field. To know what's going on in the current trend, read articles and interact with people in public forums like Cite HR, etc.
4. Learn ERP software related to HR modules like SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc. This will facilitate you in getting a good job in your dream field.
5. As an HR professional, you should have good oral as well as written skills; hence, you need to focus on English as well.
6. Lastly, on Cite-HR, there are many good articles and resources related to recruitment, employee compensation, benefits, and labor acts. These are really useful, especially for those in the HR field. Therefore, read all these resources at your convenience.
Apart from the above, there are many ways to acquire knowledge; it all depends on our planning and dedication towards our goals. As we all know, learning is a continuous process and it never ends.
I wish you all the best.
Regards,
