Struggling with Low CAT/MAT Scores: Which Southern Colleges Can I Apply to for an MBA in HR?

shillax
Hi, I had a GD/PI call from TISS, but I could not convert. Besides, my CAT and MAT scores are not all that great. CAT = 59th percentile and MAT = 65th percentile with a composite score of 590. I have 1.3 years of work experience as an HR Trainee. Now, as I'm interested in pursuing an MBA in HR, can someone please highlight a few colleges (in the south) I can apply to with the above conditions? Also, if the applications are still being accepted for the same!

Thank you very much.

Hi Mr. Butt, it was nice of you to give me a list of colleges from the south, apart from a few from other regions. I'm not sure about the accreditation part of it while looking at each college. If you could guide me with that part, I would appreciate it. Besides, I am also considering MSW and MA in HRM, and I would be pleased if I could get guidance in that respect.

Besides, I was wondering about MOP Vaishnav. How good is the college for MBA? I've heard a lot about it. Also, if I could get an idea about the following institutes:

1. IBS Bangalore (MBA)
2. IILM (MBA)
3. MOP Vaishnav College (MBA)
4. Bangalore School of Business (MBA)
5. Madras Christian College (MCC) for MSW-HR
6. Madras School of Social Work (MSSW), Chennai MA in HRM and MSW
7. Bharathiyar University (MSW)
8. Anna University (MBA)
9. Madras University (MBA)
10. PSG College, Coimbatore (MBA)

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Shillax, As per your score in CAT and MAT, I think you can find good colleges by using your CAT score only. There are a few good NITs which consider a lower CAT percentage for admission. Among the NITs, NITK Surathkal (in Karnataka) and NIT Allahabad (in UP) are good colleges with excellent infrastructure, the best faculty, and lower fees. Consider these colleges for admission.

I don't know much about Visahnav, but yes, IILM PGDM is good. IBS and BBS are also good, and PSG is reputed. You can also consider trying for Symbiosis Bangalore, Acharya, and Garden City; these are good colleges. SRM Chennai is also a good option.

Considering an MSW Course

If you are considering an MSW course, I appreciate your choice as it is a good option. TISS, Jamia Millia, Mudra Institute, Delhi University, BHU, and Mumbai University are all best in this field. If you prefer studying in the south, consider university courses. Other options similar to this are MBA (Personnel Management) and MBA (Rural Development).

For more queries, you can call me.

Dear Mr. Prasad,

Firstly, thanks for your concern and reply! Yes, I'm very keen on joining in the south due to some personal reasons at the moment. It would be brilliant if I could get information about some institutes down south.
