Is My Job Offer Real? How to Verify Without Alerting HR

rekha1120
I have received an offer through mail. I have attended an interview face to face. They released the offer after 3 days. Now, I want to verify whether it is genuine or not. If I call the concerned HR, they will tell me it is genuine, though it may not be. How can I contact others in the company without the knowledge of the concerned HR to verify whether it is genuine or not?

Hello Rekha,

I don't understand why you doubt the genuineness of the offer. Whom else would you verify with other than the HR people of the company before joining the job? This is the department through which you will be hired by the company. I suggest either calling or visiting the company directly and discussing with the HR Manager there.

For further assistance, please answer the following questions:
a) Where were you interviewed, in a placement firm or at the company's office?
b) Who was the interviewer if you were interviewed at a placement firm? Was the interviewer an HR person from the company itself?
c) Is the company located in the same city where you are currently based?
d) Were you asked to deposit any fees for registration, joining, or anything else? Or were you asked to do any favors, including but not limited to monetary ones?

Regards,
RR.
