Understanding ESI Leave and Pay

How much pay will an employee receive when they apply for leave under ESI, and what are the procedures to be followed for applying for ESI leave? Please help me, as I am a newly joined HR executive. I have experience only in payroll and PF, not in ESI.

ESI Leave Pay and Application Procedures

It depends on the disease and the salary you submitted in half-yearly returns. The pay may be up to 80% of the employee's salary.

To apply for ESI leave, the employee has to visit the ESI dispensary, where the doctor will provide three slips. Once the employee is fit to resume work, he must submit the slips at the ESI branch office, and they will process his payment.
