Stuck Abroad: How Can I Prepare an Indemnity Bond for PF Withdrawal from Canada?

I am withdrawing my PF after 3 years and am required to submit an indemnity bond on Rs. 100 stamp paper, basically declaring that I am responsible for this transaction and any consequences thereof. However, I happen to be in Canada and cannot acquire a Rs. 100 stamp paper here. I have also been unable to find a Canadian equivalent for stamp paper.

Please advise how I can prepare this indemnity bond. Is it alright if I prepare an affidavit on plain paper and get it notarized by an attorney (sign and stamp)?

You can prepare the required indemnity bond through any of your friends or a lawyer in India on an Indian Non-Judicial Stamp Paper and have it sent to you through courier from India. Take the bond to the Indian consulate in Canada along with your passport photo. The authorities at the Indian consulate are familiar with this procedure as they come across similar cases frequently. Sign the indemnity bond in front of the consulate authorities, who will then attest it with their seal and signature. After that, send it back to your friend or lawyer, who will submit it to the EPFO authorities in India. This is the only way to proceed.
