How Do I Determine the Right Salary for a Security Guard in My Company?

Dear All,

I could find information on minimum wages but not on the salary. Actually, we have a security person for whom I need to determine the minimum salary range to onboard him onto the payroll. I work for a software development company with over 70 employees on the payroll.

Hi Payal,

Is this security guard on the company payroll? If not, then it is your contractor's responsibility for his payroll.

If yes, as per the Minimum Wages Act, the security guard's payroll should be as follows:
- Basic wages: $3400.00
- PF: 12% of basic
- Bonus: 10% of basic
- Paid holiday: 1% of basic
- 21 days paid leave: 6% of basic
- Gratuity: 4% of basic
- ESIC: (Wages + HRA + Conveyance) - 4.75%
- Labour Welfare Fund: 2.33%
- HRA: $180
- Conveyance: $220

Can you guide me on what should be the minimum wages if the guards are outsourced? Also, please inform me about the allowances and deductions that are to be paid mandatorily to the security agency by the company.
