Are Copies of Ledgers Really Necessary for Statutory Personnel Visits?

pbskumar2006
Dear All,

Most of the statutory personnel (PF & ESI) whenever they visit the organization, they need a copy of the ledgers. Is it required, since they are already checking the salary and wages registers of both the employer and contractors with the respective challan copies? Please respond.

Dear Mr. Kumar,

They are labor officers. We have to furnish all details as per their norms. We have to show them all registers, even if they check the daily attendance register with working hours.

Dear Mr. Kumar,

You are asking a wonderful question. They have all the powers to verify our revenue and cash ledgers, even though they see our salary and wage registers, because they may verify whether indirect labor is involved in our day-to-day activities.
