Struggling with a Canteen Tender Proposal? Seeking Guidelines and Examples for Inspiration

yougz
Hi, I need help please. I am trying to do a tender for a canteen and have no idea how to start this (writer's block). The company has not given me any guidelines on what they require, so it's up to me to just make a proposal. Could someone please provide me with some guidelines and a copy of a previous proposal so I can take notes from? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

I suggest you draft two proposals: one to the management, explaining the project to obtain approval, and another one to the vendors.

The one to the management must contain the following:

In order to write a proposal for any purpose, it will be easy for you to develop a document called a project charter. However, the following bullet points should be included:

- Objective/purpose
- Advantages of having it
- The disadvantages the company is suffering for not having it
- How much it will cost
- What items are required to set up a canteen
- Location
- Whether or not the company has allocated any budget to set up this project
- Estimated price of the project
- The breakdown of the expenses as suggested in the price estimation
- Time frame required to complete the project
- Vendors to be invited to send this proposal to

Once you have obtained approval from the management to do the project, then you can draft a proposal to be sent to the vendor, which will contain the following:

- Objective of the project
- Location of the project
- Equipment required to set up the project
- Duration of the project
- Their pricing proposal to do the project as outlined above.

Thank you for that reply. I'm sure I can make some use of it. My situation is different from what you think; the company has a canteen already, but they want to do away with the person currently running it. I want to propose that I am willing to take over. Thanks again.

Hi there,

You have not explained to me that you want to market yourself in order to take over an existing position. Well, you need to show the management how you would do things differently once you have taken up the position. You need to mention how the current arrangement is not working well and what the company is missing with the current canteen management. What are your suggestions to improve it? A presentation on what improvements and your suggestions would be really professional. You need to tell them why they should consider you, in particular, for the position. All the best with that.
