Feeling Stuck in My IT Career Journey: How Can I Overcome My Experience Gap?

Hello, please listen with patience. I completed my BE in 2008, but due to the recession, I was unable to find a job in any IT companies. Consequently, I joined Mphasis BPO, where I worked for 10 months as a tech support voice. However, I had to leave the job due to severe health issues in March of last year. After a long break, I enrolled in a software testing course at Cegonsoft Technologies and obtained a certificate for the same.

Now, when I apply to companies, they require relevant experience and do not consider my BPO experience. Additionally, my aggregate is less than 60%, making it extremely challenging to break into the IT sector. I am currently in a state of confusion and seeking your advice on my career growth. I kindly request your assistance. If the 2011 batch is also facing similar challenges, it will be even more difficult to secure a position in IT companies. Please help me.

No IT company will consider BPO voice experience for a software engineer position. There is no need for you to get into depression, as many people are in the same position without proper career guidance. People often end up on different paths and suffer due to a lack of direction.

Of course, the recession has put many lives in pain, but the market has now grown, and companies are hiring for senior positions. Just wait until fresher roles start opening up. It's not a problem if 2011 or 2020 graduates come out as fresher hires. If you have talent and know the right path, you will surely land a good job. The key is to understand the exact way to approach job opportunities.

Hi friends, This is Tanu from Noida. I did my BTech from BBD, Lucknow in 2008 with a specialization in IT (Information Technology). Currently, I am struggling as I don't have a good job. I have passed engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication in 2011 with 65% marks. As I got placement in a reputed IT company, I joined in January 2012. My performance is very average, and it is difficult to build my career in this sector. I have not received any increments in my salary, and I also have less interest in the IT field. What is the scope of industrial automation? Should I undergo training for industrial automation? If yes, where should I get this training, and what should be the duration of the training?

My academic scores are 62% in 10th grade and 62% in 12th grade.
