Is It Necessary To Visit The PF Office To Submit Withdrawal Form??

imfoluain
Hi,

I am currently residing in Delhi NCR, but I have two PF accounts, one in Bangalore and the other in Chennai. I am leaving the country for good and moving to the U.S permanently. Can I submit the withdrawal forms to the respective PF offices through courier? If not, can I have a friend deposit the forms on my behalf?

I really want to avoid spending money to travel to the different states just to take out the PF money that the government owes me.

Thanks in advance for all the suggestions/answers.

Hi,

Yes, you may submit your applications through a third party provided your documentation is complete with particulars and necessary attestations. Please ensure that he/she receives an acknowledgment of the form submission from the PF office and passes it to you. You should also mention your mobile number on the form. I am not sure about the success of sending them through couriers.

Hope that helps.

Regards.

Most commonly followed practice is your employer forwards your PF Withdrawal Forms to the concerned PF Office. The advantage of this system is that the employer ensures that the form is fully filled without any mistakes; moreover, the employer also certifies the form. In some cases, the employer is required to submit additional documents along with the form (such as form 3A for the current year). Furthermore, the employer is in a better position to address any queries from the PF Office.

In case you are not in a position to follow the above process, you do not have to go to the PF Office personally.

The best option is to send your forms by Registered Post with Acknowledgment Due (AD). Do not rely on couriers.

Dear Sir,

In addition to the above, please attach a copy of your passport/visa duly highlighted on the form. In all such cases, claims are to be settled on priority by PF authorities.

One thing must be ensured before submission: the claim form is complete in all respects, duly attested by the employer along with the latest Form 3-A, etc.

Provident fund forms can be submitted by anyone. The PF Office also accepts submissions by ordinary post, particularly when you are leaving the country on a permanent basis. Your case will be handled by those people on a priority basis.

Usually, the company for which you are working (third party in the case of off-roll employees) used to file your withdrawal request along with the required documents and withdrawal form filled out by you. It simplifies the process, and if in case any query is raised by the PF office, the company will be able to resolve it.
